Welcome to the Lighthouse
Formerly Ipswich Women's Aid, our new name and brand reflects looking forward to a brighter future for the organisation, the women and others who use our services. It also reflects our hope that this beacon will shine its light much wider than Ipswich, to provide services for women and children from all over Suffolk.
Marathon Man........
James Reed will be donning his trainers for us on 22nd April to run the 26.2 miles of the London Marathon. James decided to raise funds for Lighthouse Women’s Aid after a friend benefited from our services.
In preparation, he has trained for 6 months covering over 600 miles in all weathers including training sessions starting at 5.15 and running in -6 OC for nearly 3 hours. Hopefully it will be a bit warmer in London! James’ mantra of: ‘If you want something badly enough then strive for it with every fibre of you being. You will be amazed at what you can achieve’ will hopefully seem him through to a finish time inside of 4 hours.
