ELSA (Emotional Literacy Support Assistant)

Lighthouse are now able to offer Emotional Literacy support for children.

But what does Emotional Literacy mean?

Emotional Literacy can be defined as the ability to recognise, understand, handle and apporopriately express your emotions (Sharp 2001).

Our Families & Children’s Worker is a trained ELSA and can offer children, of mums accessing our service, support with their emotional skills, including:

  • Social Skills

  • Bereavement

  • Social Situations

  • Therapeautic Stories

  • Anger Management

  • Self-esteem

  • Real Life Problem Solving Skills

  • Friendship
